REFLECTION #2 [back]
EXTENSIONS (1990 - 1991)
If there was a code of criticism for computerised photography, the combination of visual impact and destabilisation of our imagery would work as a starting point to interpret this kind of images.
These are images which we became used to identifying with post-modern desconstruction, but which here maintain certain lines and principles where we recognise the features of a world which does not yet belong to the past.
In the meantime, Júlio de Matos offers us through his images what Lewis Carrol did to the 19th century: the transit station between the fairy tale and the visual ceremonies of Blade Runner.
