THROUGH THIS LENS GALLERY PRESENTS FADING HUTONGS

After showing Fading Hutongs project at MIT's Wolk Gallery,
(September 15th, 2008) Júlio de Matos's next exhibition will be in North Carolina at Through This Lens Gallery, opening on September 16th,
until November 7th, 2009.

At Through This Lens Gallery site you may read:
"Fading Hutongs, like much of de Matos' photographic work, demonstrates a concern with the survival and extinction of ancestral cultures. Photographing in Beijing, de Matos has captured the atmosphere of the vanishing hutongs, neighborhoods of joined courtyard homes, and the lifestyle changes of their residents.

Lovers of photography, architecture and Asian culture will not want to miss this special exhibition."
