"ARTE EM SEGREDO" AT GALERIA LEÕES IN OPORTO

Included in the 230 years birthday celebrations of FBAUP - University of Porto College of Fine Arts, the project "Secret Art" consists in the selling of A5 format original works from a selected group of artists, only identified in the back of the artwork, in order to keep the authorship hidden until the acquisition or the closure of the exhibition.

Artists, architects, designers, between ex-students, present faculty and former faculty of the FBAUP - University of Porto College of Fine Arts participated with their artworks: Albuquerque Mendes, Alcino Soutinho, Álvaro Leite Siza, Álvaro Siza Vieira, Ana Fernandes, Aníbal Lemos, António Quadros Ferreira, Carlos Carreiro,  Eduardo Souto Moura, Emerenciano, Francisco Laranjo, Gerardo Burmester, Humberto Mesquita, Isabel Cabral, Isabel Monteiro, Jaime Azinheira, João Machado, José Rodrigues, Júlio de Matos, Júlio Resende, Manuel Casal Aguiar, Manuel Correia Fernandes, Màrio Bismarck, Nadir Afonso, Paula Soares, Rodrigo Cabral, Rui Coutinho, Rui Pimentel, Sobral Centeno, Teresa Almeida, Zulmiro de Carvalho are some of the 128 artists who joined the project "Secret Art".

According to Francisco Laranjo, the Exhibitions Commissioner and current President of FBAUP - University of Porto College of Fine Arts, the available woks allow "the contribution to the celebration of one of the most prestigious Portuguese Art Schools". All works were sold for a symbolic price of 100€. The resultant amount of the sale will revert to FBAUP - University of Porto College of Fine Arts editions.

The exhibited artworks almost sold out in the first hour and a half after the opening. It is already planned a new edition of "Secret Art" in 2011.
